Finance and Operations Director

Reports to the CEO of Animal Free Research UK and is a member of the senior management team; is responsible for all financial matters relating to the charity’s strategy and operations:

  • Developing and owning the delivery of the Animal Free Research UK Finance plan
  • Providing strategic and commercial finance expertise to Animal Free Research UK CEO and Trustees
  • Responsible for the financial stewardship of the charity and delivery of best in class financial controls and accounting
  • Effective use of resources to achieve the financial objectives of the charity
  • Managing a motivated and committed finance team and a senior contributor to the well-being of the charity
  • Owning effective relationships with third party and external stakeholders in relation to the finance function (including auditors/payroll/tax/investments/legacy)
  • Data protection lead
  • Risk and Compliance officer for the charity
  • Effective partnership with senior leaders and trustees to deliver on the charity strategic goals
  • Leadership through personal example and self-management

  • Works closely with the senior management team to develop a brand new philanthropy plan to secure long-term sustainable growth for the charity
  • Develops compelling propositions and products that secure support for the charity
  • Cultivates and stewards trusts, foundations and high net worth individuals to build long-term mutually-beneficial relationships

PR Manager

  • Responsible for developing and delivering the charity’s PR plan
  • Develops and manages relationships with high profile supporters, journalists and influencers
  • Manages the media desk and secures positive coverage to increase visibility of the charity
  • Delivers PR campaigns to increase awareness from B2B and B2C audiences
  • Manages the charity’s brand

Executive Assistant – Part time 21 hours p/w

  • Responsible for the smooth running of the Chief Executive’s office including managing relationships with key stakeholders
  • Manages a range of projects and research activities
  • Delivers high quality HR administration
  • Assists with procurement processes
  • Manages the office facilities
  • Reports to the Chief Executive and works closely with the senior management team
  • Requires discretion and sound judgement as is privy to confidential and sensitive information

Supporter Care Officer

A key part of the fundraising, marketing and communications team, this
new role will:

  • Provide expert customer care to the charity’s supporters, advising on, implementing and delivering best practice at all touch points
  • Steward the charity’s UK-wide community fundraising ambassadors, supporting them to achieve fundraising targets and maximise income
  • Deliver community fundraising output for the charity and assist with direct marketing and other fundraising initiatives as required
  • Assist with the development of a new science membership programme to ensure first class customer experience
