Our Work With Parliamentarians

Animal Free Research UK

Introduction

We work with parliamentarians across the political spectrum to accelerate the replacement of animal experiments with cutting-edge, human-specific approaches, delivering results that are more relevant to patients.

In partnership with expert scientists, we provide tailored briefings and facilitate lab visits so policymakers can see this transformative research in action.

We provide secretariat support for the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Phasing Out Animal Experiments in Medical Research.

Our key policy recommendation is for Herbie’s Law , which would provide a practical framework for phasing out animal testing over the next decade, supporting the scientific community with the transition. It’s named after a beagle who was bred for the laboratory but thankfully not used and allowed to be adopted.
