Donate Cryptocurrency

Donate cryptocurrency and you can help to free animals from laboratories for good.

Outdated animal research is failing humans and animals. Nearly 3 million animals suffer in Britain’s laboratories every year. These experiments are cruel, hold back breakthroughs, and as a result cause suffering to millions of animals.

Donate cryptocurrency and together we can end animal research for good. For everyone’s good.

This is our time to make change happen. Because of your support, Animal Free Research UK forges on with our ambitious vision to create a world where human diseases are cured faster without animal suffering.
Above all we need your help and support to push forward, fund these breakthroughs and demonstrate with true science that human diseases can be defeated – animal free.

Your donation today has the power to bring real change. Donate cryptocurrency and help build a brighter future for humans and animals.

Thank you for your support!

Donate cryptocurrency – Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the Animal Free Research UK accepting cryptocurrency?

Cryptocurrency is an innovative new kind of currency and we believe that accepting cryptocurrency will result in donations we may not otherwise receive, as well as connecting us with new types of supporters.

Also, from our research into future trends, it looks likely that we will receive digital currency as a donation and/or as part of a legacy at some point and we want to be prepared for that eventuality.

Will I get a receipt with my cryptocurrency donation?

In order to receive a receipt with your donation, you must enter your email when prompted to in our widget above. You will automatically receive a receipt from receipts@thegivingblock.com as soon as the transaction is confirmed on the blockchain. This changes depending on the blockchain – you can refer to this guide for estimates and more information. Please note that you will receive a receipt every time you donate with our wallet address to the receipt you enter when generating the address.

Are cryptocurrency donations anonymous?

Yes, they work the same as a cash donation in that anyone can send them to us without providing their details. If people wish to hear from us in the future, they can provide their details voluntarily.

Is donating cryptocurrency legal?

Yes. There is currently no legal restriction for merchants to accept payments in Bitcoins in the UK, Ireland or the EU.

HMRC have issued guidance to companies on how to handle, record and tax Bitcoin transactions, and operations which the Animal Free Research UK will comply with.

More details on HMRC guidance are available here.

Can my crypto donation be refunded?

All cryptocurrency donations made via The Giving Block are non-refundable.

As these donations are often immediately converted into fiat, we do not offer refunds on any donations that are made in cryptocurrency. We are not able give refunds if you changed your mind, sent the wrong cryptocurrency or made the wrong decision.

The Giving Block does not, has not, and will never offer any form of cryptocurrency airdrop, goods or services in return for a donation.

What happens if I send unsupported currencies using The Giving Block Widget?

Please only send the exact cryptocurrency listed on the blockchain mentioned on the widget. Do not send any other cryptocurrencies (including layer 2, wrapped tokens, NFTs or other ERC-20 tokens not listed) as these are unsupported and may result in loss of donation.

If you send any digital asset or cryptocurrency to an ETH address that are not supported they will be lost and there is no way for the charity to receive the assets or you to recover them. It is always important to ensure that you are only sending an asset that matches the asset that you have chosen on the donation widget.

PLEASE NOTE:

Please only send the exact cryptocurrency listed on the blockchain mentioned on the widget. Do not send any other cryptocurrencies (including layer 2, wrapped tokens, NFTs or other ERC-20 tokens not listed) as these are unsupported and may result in loss of donation.
