Animal Free Research UK Science Conference postponed until Spring 2022

Published on December 7, 2021

The Animal Free Research UK 14-15 December 2021 Science Conference has been postponed until the Spring of 2022.

The decision to move the annual event  – which was due to take place next week at Birmingham’s Millennium Point – was made after consultation with delegates about the uncertainty surrounding the Covid-19 Omicron variant.

Carla Owen, CEO of Animal Free Research UK, said: “Our first priority is always to ensure that our community is safe and well.

“Whilst little is known the new Covid-19 variant, we are postponing following discussions with many of the delegates. It is clear the prevailing concern risks undermining the event, and that inevitably some delegates will either not be able to attend, and some would feel uncomfortable joining a large indoor gathering.”

She added: “Postponing to Spring 2022 allows us to host as intended a fantastic in-person conference and to ensure the health and wellbeing of our animal free research community.

“We know this will for some cause an inconvenience, and we wish to assure you we are on hand to speak personally with you about your arrangements.

“Thank you so much for your understanding and support. And meantime, do please get in touch with any queries.”

Delegates are invited to email their queries to: hello@animalfreeresearchuk.org
