Animal Free Research UK is the UK’s leading non-animal medical research charity.
We fund research that will save animals from being used and is more relevant to human health. This will mean better treatments for conditions such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease can be developed.
We award grants to projects that demonstrate the highest scientific calibre and the best potential for replacing the use of animals.
We were founded in 1970 as the Dr Hadwen Trust and have awarded grants to over 200 research projects including research including cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, and arthritis.
We changed our name to Animal Free Research UK in 2017 and continue to advance medical research without harming animals.
